Mindfulness Course Details

Who is the course for?

It is for people who are looking for a reliable, research-based technique, which can help them:

  • manage stress and anxiety
  • create more peace and joy
  • develop a focused attention
  • develop greater empathy and compassion
  • manage anger and other difficult emotions
  • control pain perception
  • work through grief
  • develop a greater sense of inter-connectedness with others

Both beginners and more experienced mindfulness meditators are welcome on the course.


The course runs over 9 weeks:

8 weekly evening meetings, 7.30pm – 9pm
1 full Saturday, 10am – 4pm

The course is designed to run over 9 weeks as it has been shown that a period of extended practice enables us to most successfully change our behavior and form new habits so that mindfulness more readily becomes part of our daily lives.

Between each meeting, participants are expected to practice daily, and to complete small pieces of “homework”.

After completion of the course, there is the opportunity to attend regular mindfulness evenings with Sally and Sarah on a drop-in basis.

Participants are encouraged to support each other, both through the course, and subsequent to the course.


Although mindfulness techniques have been developed out of a joining of spiritual and psychotherapeutic practice, this course is not aligned with any religion, and does not teach any religious beliefs, nor is it group therapy.

Each meeting is a blend of teaching, experiential practice, and discussion.

A range of mindfulness practices are taught, such as:

  • Body scan
  • Breath meditation
  • Mindfulness yoga exercises
  • Open awareness practice
  • Compassion meditation

Cost and booking

£250 (to include written and recorded course material)

Booking in advance, with a deposit of £100, is essential as each course is restricted to 8 participants.

What to bring

Please bring two cushions, notepad or iPad, yoga mat or blanket to lie, and water.

Please wear comfortable, loose, and layered clothing (some people get warmer while meditating, and cooler while sitting and talking).
